Who runs the local bus services

A passenger licence says how many vehicles an operator may run. It does not say whether any of them run a scheduled route. Every local bus service has to be registered with a Traffic Commissioner before it can run, and this is what those registrations record, as published on 7 September 2026.

Counting is easy to get wrong here. A service crossing three authorities is published three times, so counting those rows would credit an operator with several times the routes it actually runs. Each service is counted once below, with every authority it runs through recorded against it.

A registration is permission to run a route, not a timetable. It records where a service starts, finishes and runs through, and who may run it. For departure times, use the operator or your local transport authority.
